Last weekend, I went to Savannah to visit Joey’s family for the first time. YAY! It was the perfect Labor Day getaway. It is always nerve wrecking having to meet your boyfriend’s family for the first time however in my case it was different. Thanks to social media, I had already met his family through Facebook and Instagram prior to me going to Savannah. I still had a few nerves however they were good nerves. Savannah is such a beautiful little small town that has trees canopying over the streets. It feels like an old town with a little touch of modern… emphasis on little. The perfectly manicured parks with cobblestone, the beautiful architecture and horse-drawn carriages make this small town very picturesque and unique. I am so glad I packed light because it was extremely hot. I wore this yellow laser cut sun dress on Sunday when I was playing tourist with Joey’s lovely family. I paired it with these gingham strap sandals here is an alternative and my quilted cross body bag to finish the look off. The South definitely gives one a different feel especially if you are coming from a completely different part of the country. The good ol’ soul food on the other hand makes a trip down there, worth while. It was nice seeing Joey’s Southern roots and getting to know him on a deeper level. Upon our return back home, I got really sick unfortunately. I had no appetite and was feeling nauseous. I felt really crappy and thinking about the drive back home and how long it was going to take us was not helpful either. It was the worst feeling having to drive for so long while feeling crappy. I’m glad I feel better now unlike a few days back.
