BEST NATURAL HAIR PRODUCTS FOR BLACK GIRLS

ALT= TGIN Natural Hair Products

I always get asked what kind of products I use in my hair and this question always leaves me tongue-tied. I used to literally do nothing to my hair until I found some great natural hair products. There are many natural hair products out in the market to choose from; I had to take some time to narrow the best options down. It was not a priority but now I made it one. The best decision I ever made hair-wise  was going natural. It has been a little over two years now and I love having low maintenance hair.

Recently a friend of my mom’s recommended TGIN to her. My mom came home one evening with the honey miracle hair mask and asked me to assist her with applying it to her hair. I was intrigued by this new natural hair product that I had never crossed paths with on the aisles of Sally’s Beauty Supply. Long story short, I loved the magic this product did for her hair. She has longer natural hair than mine so I was impressed with the texture this product added to it.

After fixing her hair, I decided to purchase my own products to give this brand that I had never heard of until then a shot. I got a set of the GREEN TEA SUPER MOIST LEAVE IN CONDITIONER, the REPLENISHING CONDITIONER FOR NATURAL HAIR, the BUTTER CREAM MOISTURIZER FOR NATURAL HAIR, the SMOOTH & HOLD EDGE CONTROL, and the SULFATE FREE SHAMPOO FOR NATURAL HAIR. I love these products because they are affordable natural hair products and they leave your hair looking and feeling healthy.

A major rule of thumb when using natural hair products is not to use shampoo often. It tends to dry out the hair leaving it without moisture. My hair routine is simple for those that asked. I shampoo it once in a month and each week, I deep condition my hair and then apply the hair mask. I leave the mask in for about 45mins to an hour. This gives it a tender and soft texture while also opening up my pores. Once I finish with these steps, I apply  the butter cream moisturizer and I’m good to go. On a daily basis, I wet my hair and add a small portion of the green tea super moist leave in conditioner to keep it soft and moist. I then use the smooth and hold edge control to lay my edges. You know that is very important step ladies!

Because I have short natural hair, I do not use a lot of products or highly keep up with my hair. Most mornings I wing it by wetting it and using a sponge to give it the coil curl effect. Finding the best natural hair products is essential especially for girls with long natural hair. I alternate between Shea Butter Products and TGIN but for the most part, TGIN has been my go-to. Once in a while, when I want my hair to have a fruity or rosy scent, I spray in Carol’s Daughter’s Black Vanilla Moisture & Sheen Hair Sheen. This is also a great natural hair brand for those that would like to have more than one natural hair product to use.

    Do you know any product that would be good for dry hair? I get really dry scalp during the winter.

    I used to only worry about skincare but I’ve been treating my hair with oils and hair packs too and have been loving it! Our hair needs the extra attention too!

    This sounds like a great product! I need to do more hair masks since I dyed my hair. Great post!
